Nobody is writing him off. He just hasn’t done anything yet. Honzek, on the other hand, is going to play in the NHL at 19, because he came back from injury and actually earned his spot. An “excellent” 23 year old should be able to do the same.

He is nothing special sure, but the move is still puzzling. Coronato can go down and play and get minutes instead of sitting in the pressbox.
Honzek earned his spot to cover for Sharangovich, and once he is back we can send Honzek back down because he is not a 4th liner or healthy scratch.
So who is the logical player to keep that fits a 4th line spot? He could also be traded for something instead of lost for nothing.
