I don’t think this is even a comparable at this point. The 6’3” 19 year old 2023 drafted player that had an injury-filled D+1 season, deserved patience and the benefit of the doubt, and he’s looking like he put in the work this summer and will reap the benefits
The 23 year old, 5’9” Pelletier has had 6 training camps to show he can be an NHL player. At what point are injuries no longer an excuse for his lack of development. He’s either injury prone, or he’s just not an effective enough player for his size, or both. How much more patience should we have Paulie?
If another team wants to give him NHL minutes to develop, have at it, it’s no loss to the Flames at this point when several bigger, stronger and younger wingers have clearly passed him in the Flames Org.
