I kind of get it. They have next to nothing coming up the pipe, so they need some sort of assurance that they have a body. It does show how piss poor they have been in drafting and developing that this is the course they need to go. In Penticton they only had 2 players on the backend that they drafted. One was a 2nd from last year and other was a 7th from '21. You would think they would be prioritizing that for their organization, but it seems most of the D picks are flyers from the 6th and 7th rounds.
