Its a fine establishment. Sure, its no 'Anne Frank's house' but it tries it's best and its actually slightly less depressing.
Its better than the Picasso museum which was mind-numbingly dull but, in fairness, far behind the Rijksmuseum, which is awesome.

I was really expecting better displays of the various torture instruments in Amsterdam. I was really underwhelmed by the whole thing. We didn’t book Anne Frank in advance, so that ended up not happening, but the smiling tourists posing for family photos in front was a little cringe though, kind of the same experience at the Hiroshima bomb dome.
