I hate Telus.
Moved my mom from her condo to a lodge this past weekend. We called Telus 3 weeks ago to arrange the transfer her phone to the new place... there was a problem with the address. So the guy I talked to escalated it up a level and promised a return call the next day. He called back and said "Is your mom the owner of the new building?". No, it's a seniors lodge. "Well, they have to apply to Telus to have services installed there because Telus doesn't provide services to that address". I talked to the lodge again and they confirmed that they were on Telus and probably over 90% of their tenants used Telus....
I went back to Telus and they claimed that wasn't true. So I hung up on them and went to ShRogers to get their home phone and have my mom's number ported over to ShRogers. At this point there wasn't was plenty of lead time but we were assured that it would take 5 business days. Now we're on 6th and still nothing. Shrogers says that they're waiting for Telus to port the number over and Telus can take time with that... this I have experienced at work when dealing with branches switching from Telus to our own VOIP service. Telus takes forever.
So, in the meantime, The Shrogers tech came and setup the phone so my mom can call out, but the number is still routed through Telus so nobody can call my mom. She's feeling like she's missing out, or "in jail" as she said, because she's not getting any phone calls. She deals with crippling anxiety (moving her was a living hell) and I'm trying to get things calm for her but Telus taking their time to port the number to Shrogers isn't helping me at all.
I HATE TELUS! I'll never use them again, and I'll never help family use them either.
Also, cel-phone is not an option. She's in her mid-80s and never was good with technology and that landline number belonged to my parents for 40 years. She doesn't want to lose that.
