You're literally told by the doctor to sit around because every single exertion you perform -- as minimal as it may be -- conveys some stress in the very area to which you've just had surgery on and can result in bleeding or other complications. I was told that lifting my 12 lb. cat was more exertion than I should be performing during my first week.
Following doctor's orders in this case will look exactly like 'milking it' because you're basically told to
