I don't think Solo is on many team's radars at all, and they have their own Solos they need to manage and get through waivers. The idea that someone urgently needs his talents enough to keep him on their NHL roster to start the year is highly unlikely. We go through this every year and everyone always frets about prospects being claimed on waivers. There's probably a higher likelihood of Hanley being claimed due to his amount of experience in the NHL (still very unlikely).

I'm not flustered if it happens. The fact is that guys like Solovyov may not even be on the team in a year or two even if he makes it. We still have Weegar, probably for the length of his contract. Parekh, Brusztewicz and Grushnikov are all likely to be on the team within a couple years, likely higher in the lineup than Solo, so there's your top 4 projected. This doesn't consider any other prospects like Poirier, Morin, Mews, Kuznetsove etc. who may end being much better than what Solo is now. Solovyov is not going to be more than a bottom pairing guy, and a relatively replaceable one at that. That's coming from someone who likes his overall game, but I'm not blown away by him, and it's likely he'll be another Adam Pardy like journeyman at best.
