Heck the kid outperformed Zary at every level besides the NHL, so far.
He has exactly one year of "injury history".
It's wild how quickly the sentiment against him has turned.
He had a rough year from a bad shoulder last year and then a preseason where he hasn't put up a tonne a points, but then again, neither have half the vets on the team.
In my opinion losing him on waivers would be extremely poor management of the player.

I agree with much of this, and I think it is too early to give up on Pelletier and assume he's a bust.
The problem is that he is not currently ready to be on the roster. And having him eat popcorn is the absolute worst thing for him right now. He needs to play, and to try and get his confidence back. And that is only going to happen in the A.
Unfortunately, waiver eligibility is forcing the Flames' hand on this. But they need to do what is right for the player and for the team, and that is to send him to the Wranglers where he can play. If he gets waived, those are the breaks.
