Kuzmenko to Montreal is an interesting thought but I’m not sure either Montreal or Calgary leaps to any rash decisions. At least not at this point.
Liane’s injury looked pretty bad. It wouldn’t be surprising if he’s done for the year. And if he is able to come back, at what point and at what capacity? It’s going to take some, I think. Realistically, what are Montreal’s expectations this year? Certainly improving and playing competitive hockey later into the season would have been an expectation, but a playoff team? Not too sure many expect that.
At this point I think it’s more likely they look internally or see what presents itself on the waiver wire. I think they’ll be patient, to a degree, and see where they’re at by Christmas.
If they are competitive, either Martha or Kuzmenko could be of interest to them. They certainly have the draft capital to acquire a player.
