I guess that was the impetus for the article. Teams in the East saw prime Huberdeau fairly recently. They know what he is capable of, and that it's just not happening in Calgary.
So what would a Huby, Horvat, Barzal line look like? Potentially really great.
There is a possibility of capitalizing on a team that wants to take that chance, but that contract isn't an issue because Huby is not going to live up to it, it's an issue because of cap space.
If Calgary trades Huby to NYI for Wahlstrom and Pelech, then NYI just has to trade Palmeiri for free to a team like Columbus (he has a modified NTC) and they have potentially improved their team by quite a lot. It's a gamble, but Lou is a gambler.
The interesting part is that it's in the minds of fans to the east.
