In this case, it's not speculative at all. There was violence on January 6 because of Trump egging it on and refusing to stop it. There is violence in Springfield because of Trump and Vance stoking the flames with baseless accusations and refusing to take responsibility for it. There is increasing violence from right-wing groups because Trump is telling them to fight and take back America.
None of that are assumptions. They are facts, and it's not some *hmm this could happen if Trump gets elected, but maybe not" fantasy.
