Gridin is eligible for the AHL. AFAIK - and someone correct me if I am wrong here - even if he signs in the CHL now, and the Flames simply don't like his development there, they can just yank him out and assign him to the AHL, right (unless his contract specifically states that this can't happen)? The CHL agreement is exactly that - an agreement for players drafted out of that league. Gridin doesn't qualify as that, even if he goes and plays there this season.
