What an adventure! The end of the special was pretty....special. I won't spoil it for those that haven't watched.
Overall, this was an amazing series to watch. This last special got me thinking about the series in general. I remember 10-15 years ago before the age of streaming, it would be an event when the torrent for the most recent Top Gear came out on FinalGear. I was in university at the time and it would always be a special time to sit in front of the computer monitor with some cereal dinner on a Sunday night and watch the episode. Every episode that would come out was always interesting and always better than the last. There were times where the scripted portions were a bit too much but overall it was so much fun - especially with the specials.
When the three hosts moved from Top Gear to the Grand Tour it was very exciting but it ended up being a bit of a disappointment for me. For whatever reason, the show didn't click the same. I'm glad they realized too and went full tilt into doing specials. It ending up being the best thing.
I'm disappointed we won't get to see these three all together again but it's nice to know each one has their own show(s) where their characters and personalities will continue. But it'll never be quite the same without the three all together. This series has had a lasting impression on me and I actually adopted the name "Captainslow" as my username for my online presence (I had it for CP before that account was banned for posting a link to Flames game that was being by Yahoo back when they were doing that).
