I went and saw this in theaters and it was a shallow, pedantic, predictable and almost half-assed re-make of an iconic film.

And it had to be one of the most fun and enjoyable theater experiences I've ever had. That movie was almost literally a high-octane, non-stop thrill ride. I know it wasn't 'haute-couture' but goddamn was that a great movie.

So much fun.

They told you what it was going to be. They delivered on their promise....in spades. It was an absolute blast.

I generally dont criticize films that are honest about what they're going to be, they tell you what the movie is going to be and then deliver exactly what they said they would. And thats exactly what that film was.

I vehemently dislike Tom Cruise as a human, but that movie? You'll not hear a disparaging word from me.

Shallow summer tentpole popcorn flick that will see you leaving the theater with a smile on your face? That film delivered value for every penny of my admission and concessions.

No complaints. It told me what it was going to be. I knew what it was going to be. It was exactly that. Zero complaints.

Thats a rare film.
