I dont think it necessarily needs to be as deep as people make it, but Linkin Park was the soundtrack of my younger life for quite some time.

and that's pretty much it for a lot of people. Doesn't have to be deeper than this, just hit a nerve when you were a teenager at the time and it's why so many people hold "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" in such high regard.
