Do they ?
I have seamless steel siding on my house and its virtually hail proof.
I am also deep SE so out of the path of most major Hail storms.
Kind of infuriating how they expect someone else to do something they can probably do on a much larger scale.

I used to live in a place with concrete board siding. If there was hail, it was pretty damn quiet vs stucco and other materials. But I guess good windows also help contribute for that. The builder said he didn't like how houses were getting closer to each other. He said that if a fire did happen, the concrete board should help to slow or stop the fire from spreading as fast as vinyl siding and certain types of other materials.
Roof wise, how many roofs are actually getting destroyed by hail? I've never seen it. Siding, absolutely. But roofs?
I do kinda want to use nicer roofing materials than asphalt when the time comes to upgrade the look and durability. I'm just not sure whether that means rubber or metal or aluminum or whatever. Hail proof solar tiles would probably be most ideal though.
