I've been thinking about it for quite a while, and I think that the Flames might be better off splitting Backlund and Coleman up this season.
If Zary doesn't have instant chemistry with Huberdeau in preseason then I think that
Sharangovich - Zary/Pospisil - Coleman
would be a great line to help a kid out defensively, while he learns the ropes at center. I also really liked the chemistry Coleman and Sharky found on the PK. They were so much fun together killing penalties.
This will likely result in
Huberdeau - Backlund - Mantha/Coronato/Pelletier
Which will either be a good spot to pump up Mantha's value or will give another kid an opportunity to succeed. Huberdeau wasn't great with Backlund, but better than with Kadri, or Sharangovich(at center).
