Yeah, I'd agree that diet is almost everything as you get older and your metabolism slows down (I'm 44). Your comment about eating less is on point - don't eat until you feel full, because once you feel full, you've already over eaten. Eat to no longer be hungry. One thing I haven't been able to eliminate is not eating beyond the normal dinner time. If I'm out after work with friends, clients or co-workers, I'm likely eating after 6pm. And because I'm still out having late nights with friends on weekends, I'm still occasionally grabbing (bad) food at 2 or 3am! But I've managed to stay very healthy.
