But overall this is why I was an advocate for drafting a D last year, because it was such an unusual draft with so many potential top end Dmen. The drafts ahead are stronger with forwards. So if you can land a potential #1 centre in 2025 you've addressed to of the most important building blocks.

Injury is probably the biggest risk for New Jersey. Hamilton and Hughes have both not proven to be the most durable but very important to that team.
The roster itself though is pretty stacked IMO.

Tatar - Haula - Noesen
Cotter - Lazar - Bastian
Siegenthaler - Hamilton
Hughes - Pesce
Dillon - Nemec
Markstrom
Allen
That's a strong and very balanced roster. If Pesce is as steady as he was in Carolina and Hughes/Nemec are what people think they are then that defense should be elite too. They also have 3 2025 2nd round picks, so should be able to add a top 9 winger at the deadline which is probably where they are lacking right now.
