You'd get jail in Canada. Almost invariably unless there is a major mitigating factor. Impaired driving causing death is a criminal code offence that has a maximum sentence of life and a starting point of about 4 years, kind of like manslaughter.
You will likely not get jail time for the careless driving ones which are provincial offences.
