CPC MPs aren't in danger of losing seats when they are about to win a large majority...

C'mon man you can use a bit of logical thinking here. The NDP also backtracked when they realized that the date change by the Liberals on the pretense of honoring Diwali may have had an ulterior motive for a party that is expected to lose over 80 seats and caught the NDP in the election date change controversy (they first voted for it). That's the issue with supply and confidence deals / coalitions, you are the first to be hit when #### hits the fan.

It should also be noted that the recent Liberal MPs that stepped down (Lametti, O'Reagan, Fillmore, Aldag) had their pensions already secured being from the old 2015 guard, all did their 6 years+ and get no benefit from staying longer on a sinking ship.
