Cannot. That's the issue. The APPR website requires some references the airline submission. It's like a circular reference in an excel formula with some additional broken aspects in between.

The APPR claim required us to prove we filed a claim with Westjet. The online submission on Westjet's site wasn't showing the original flights that were rescheduled. The site's selection options acted as if they didn't exist because the plane didn't fly. Why this is a drop down vs something you type in is dumb, but I assume it's so you don't get people filling in wrong flights. But this is also dumb to be lacking in info (ie: No option of "other) because that's the reason why you're probably filing a claim in the first place and it's required information so you cannot submit without it. Yes... we tried choosing a random flight. It then verifies we were never booked or rescheduled on said flight(s) and refuses to progress further.

The agent was also telling me that what she was doing on her side was navigating some type of complicated system on her end, one that dealt with 100s of airlines, not just Westjet. She agreed and was surprised that the original flight (rescheduled) wasn't showing up on the submission website. She had to sort through days/hundreds of airlines to pull up the data to fill in a claim form for us. She said she used to work in an industry that gave her the skills to navigate it for us, but lamented that many of the others might not have that skillset to do it. That's kinda crazy.
