Draisaitl obviously would be dumb not to take the money. If he went to FA he would have to be offered 16M a season over 7 years. That would also include the risk of potential injury that could kybosh a lot of that. As he said, he is doing what is best for him. I still think McDavid isn't a sure thing, even with this signing. That path to Toronto is there, so I can see him being conflicted in one years time. At the end of the Day, Draisaitl can always ask for a trade if McDavid leaves as he is always looking out for number 1.
