In what has been an unexpectedly somber and tough week and weekend my band and I found ourselves performing last night live at the Richmond Night Market here in Vancouver (Richmond lol) and though it had been a minute since we had played Johnny B Goode at all let alone live it will be one of my all time musical honours performing that song as the last song of the set in dedication to Johnny and the Gaudreau brothers.
I’ve been playing and performing music with my bros for 25 years and have lived with them my entire life, it’s been just us three and our folks against the world, the Falk fist as we call it, and I think that’s why this has hit me so incredibly hard, I’m still finding myself crying if I even begin to walk down the path of thoughts around how immensely hard this must be for the Gaudreau’s right now.
Love you so much Johnny and Matty, keep being Goode and we’ll play it for ya live when we make it up that way someday.
