Moreover, it's one thing to suffer from a disease of alcoholism and not be able to control when and how much you drink. It's an entirely different discussion about choosing to get behind a wheel after drinking.
To me, the latter has no excuse ever. Period. That man made a choice, and he's still alive to deal with that choice, and so he should for the rest of his days. The Gaudreau brothers are gone forever, through no fault of their own.
This is a false equivalency.

Alcoholism leads to bad choices. It's not a choice to get behind a wheel just part of the process. If you want retribution, go for it, but it's not going to bring back anybody.
