Sadly you start to really question how his family is doing, the worst pit in the stomach feeling comes over you. I can’t even type it all out, the impact on every individual at a time when they should be elated celebrating a wedding today.
Lastly as a father or mother you feel yourself loosing it as if it were your own kids, you can’t fathom the idea, you start thinking about his children having to grow up without their father, at an age where they heartbreakingly never had the time to get to k ow just how awesome he was and how many lives he impacted.
All because of a senseless, disgusting and selfish act that is easily avoidable.
I didn’t know Johnny personally, but was fortunate to meet him a handful of times outside of the rink and yet somehow I feel like I’ve lost something inside me today.
The Flames will do right by Johnny, not just because of this tragedy, but because of the generational era he gave this city and this fanbase and the legacy he left with us fans here in Calgary.
RIP Johnny Hockey.

This has rocked my world, in ways I couldn't have even imagined a "celebrity" like other posters have mentioned. Having this community during a time like this, Barnburner where I feel like it was being able to sit around with a few friends as we try to make sense of this and how we feel. I just want to say thanks.
And between the posters on here opening up combined with this ####ing shock to the system, I will never even have another single drop of alcohol in my system and getting behind a wheel.
This is heavy, painful. ####.
