I don’t know what to even say, I am numb right now as I cannot believe what I’m reading. Johnny was my absolute favorite Flame of all time and I am beyond saddened to hear of his passing. Meeting him and talking to his Mom, it just makes this all the more tragic like losing a friend.
His family is so close, so you just know how incredibly devastated they all must feel right now. He was their whole world and was even our world for the time he was here. There aren’t any words to describe how sorry I am for their loss.
Rest in peace Matthew and Johnny, thank you for all the great memories and joy you provided, I’ll continue to defend you forever pal, it’s the absolute least I can do for you. I will proudly wear your jersey today while reliving all the great moments of your career. Thanks for everything you gave to this franchise and our fan, you will be dearly missed by so many.
