At the same time it's not though. Paying 3 or 4 players over minimum loses you the beast. Players of age will take less to play in two roles. 1. Play with players on teams that have won. If I was Skinner I would of leaned towards Crosby or Mackinnon before McDavid. If those options weren't there due to financial constraints I would lean towards a Dallas or Rangers model. Jeff Skinner gets 3 million this year plus buyout money because he chose the powerplay minutes and the dollar. Can't blame him though. You come first. You've worked for this and it's your opportunity. When you're getting 7-11 minutes a game don't bitch. When you're sitting the last 5 minutes of a game you're down in, don't bitch.
