Buuuummmmp, because of no power and no cable, I decided to go check out the Bantam games yesterday where I could. Its tough watching as a spectator though.

Week 1

Airdrie Raiders pummelled the Lions 62-0

No surprise, Airdrie is on another level right now, they're big, they're fast, their defence is really physical to the point of being intimidating.

Rebels 14-Mavericks 2

A defensive battle, but neither team really got their offense moving. It was nice to see the Rebels get a win, last year for them was absolutely miserable.

Wildcats 33 Cowboys 3 -

This was unexpected, the Cowboys last year were incredibly tough, and they've been almost like league bullies for a decade. But they had real struggles on defence, their QB who I think is a first year struggled with the pressure, and they couldn't get their run game going. The Cowboys will get better, they have great coaches who adjust well. But this was a whomping. The Wildcats looked good in every aspect of the game. But their passing game is exceptional, and they have an undersized QB who can hit seam routes and can throw well on the run.

Colt's 38 Bulldogs 8

Not a surprise that my former team did well, they have an outstanding high speed returning running back, and good big slots. Their defense applies a lot of pressure. The Colts lost thier starting QB for the season to an ACL injury, but their new QB is a smaller kid, but he's lightning fast when he decides to take off. But their offense orbits around their run game and especially the outside run game due to their running backs elite speed.
