However, in case you haven't noticed, point getters, and particularly goal scorers, are paid very well regardless of "more to hockey".
Skinner is a pretty good player who was given an absurd contract by a bad GM that soured fans, but that does not take away from his abilities and his body of work.
I'm really not sure why the Oilers went after him as he is a bit redundant and their issues are hardly up front. Again though, 3M for a guy with his resume is a hell of a bargain.

Okay tips, that's why a bad team with tons of cap space is paying him not to play for them. He got inflated minutes in offensive situations that he wouldn't get on a good team. Guy isn't just average defensively he is legit terrible. A net negative player.
And GL with the 30 goals with 20 seconds of PP time a night.
