I think not enough is said about finishing last/winning the draft lottery in the right years. Lots of teams win draft lotteries or draft high for a few years and it turns into a mediocre team at best… the trick is hitting at the right time. There’s a big difference between bottoming out and getting McKinnon and Makar vs bottoming out and getting Stuetzle and B. Tkachuk. Personally, I think the Sharks have managed to bottom out at just the right time with who they have drafted. Hoping the flames will be doing the same and get a shot at McKenna.
