I've been listening to DNC analysis all day, and no one had anything positive to say about Clinton being here. Either it was ignored completely (most common, most people don't care), or people made fun of his speech was too long and kind of painful to listen to, or the more progressives were saying "don't they realize that thus guy epitomizes what's wrong with the Democrats to everyone who doesn't like Democrats?
Clinton's legacy is primarily three things: open trade and those global trade agreemenrs which are quite unpopular these days, de-regulation of markets which is also very unpopular with lot of people for extremely good reasons, and being a sex predator.
He's a manifestation of things Democrats don't want people to remember. Some past is best buried.
I would argue that at this point Hillary likely has more actual fans, and she's not exactly popular either.
The people who like him are probably mostly hardcore party loyalists already, while the people who don't like him are people they are trying to convince.
Dems can be super tone deaf at times, and this was an example of it.

I think he was Boomer fuel. They put Joe out to pasture, so needed someone from that generation who they recognize.
