It also makes me wonder if Ceci is a popular guy on the team, how the locker room relationships will be with Broberg and Holloway if either are matched.

Everything I had ever heard was that Ceci was well liked in that locker room. Apparently a lot of the players didn't want him sent out as a means of upgrading the D last year. Sometimes these guys who know where they fall in the pecking order get viewed as being important by their team mates.
So you take out a lesser guy who wanted to be with the team to keep another who does look like he was happy to go and put him on the wrong side. Might be the right analytical choice, but there's always moves that don't work out the way they were intended.
It's not a stretch to think Lowe will be on the airwaves in Edmonton two years from now crowing about how Broberg should pay the team back for not earning his money. If he is only average the state might let the media after him in year two.
