I have to respectfully disagree. Having a good coach is akin to appointing the right General to lead your army. The coach sets the gameplan, chooses the nightly roster, and doles out the ice time. They are in charge of all the details, as well as motivation vs. discipline. There's a big reason why coaches (at least the better ones) are getting paid like players- you can assemble the best team in the league on paper, but they won't get anywhere without the right coach. The 2004 Flames would not have made it far without the right coach in Darryl Sutter.
