This is a huge move by St. Louis as it really paints the Oilers into a corner. The other thing is if they pull this off it ensures there will be no one coming down the pipe. Them trading their first pick next year only compounds things. I don't know how anyone can sit there with a straight face and believe McDavid and Draisaitl think long term that this is a place where to win. McDavid and Draisaitl will be in their 30s before anyone worth mentioning is developed.
