Last offer sheet was years ago, and neither player has really proven anything at the NHL level. I certainly was on the side of the fence that an offer sheet to either player was pretty unlikely to happen.
You still have guys like Robertson and Harley sitting around without contracts on teams that could be put over the cap with an offer sheet, and those players have better NHL track records.

The other thing is those were the rumored asks though, I think with some actual negotiation they could probably get them to around $1M for Holloway and $1.6M for Broberg (who pencils into the top 4 for them, even if he's not
Proven yet).
Instead my guess is the Oilers were being a bit arrogant in trying to get these guys to sign for league minimum, thinking nobody would offer sheet them, and they would do it for a chance to win a cup.
