Connor Bedard is up in 2 years. I just can't see the PA being happy with the leagues biggest "star" taking any discount to stay in Edmonton. Every team will start to nudge their stars to take a discount, because Connor did it.
They want their stars to get paid and paid a lot.
Discounts just don't happen, its rare and usually when a player is like 35 plus not in their prime earning years.
Toews and Kane didn't take discounts. MacKinnon didn't take a discount. Tavares got 11 million to play for his childhood team. Kopitar didn't take a discount. Doughty didn't take a discount. Mark Stone went to his destination team and signed a massive contract right away as a winger.
They are nuts.
