Secondly, not every member of a family who owned slaves shared the same views as the owner.
Thirdly, contrary to popular belief, like whites, many blacks owned slaves themselves. Our history has had many dark periods but it's clearly gotten better overtime, and I believe it'll get even better in years to come.

Now, your question is "Were the slave owners who fell in love with their slaves racist?"
I think the right answer is, both. It's very possible that some were absolutely racist, and others weren't. It's no different than humans throughout history, some are hate-filled and other are loving and compassionate.
No, no it isn't.
These weren't people that thought owning ANY slaves was fine.
They were people that thought owning slaves was okay BECUASE THEY WERE BLACK.
Unless those guys were advocating for being able to enslave white folks too, then yeah, they were 100% racist regardless of how they treated their slaves.

So you're rebuttal is going to be "well it's entirely possible some of them did think they should be able to own white slaves".
Sure, I'll grant that, but let's be honest here, that number that would be pro-black, anti-white slavery, rounds to about 100%.
