They aren't great, but I would bet that they will win some ugly low scoring games - and as long as they keep the turnovers down they should win a few more of those close games they lost last year.

6.5 seems really high for a last place team. Granted this won't consider injuries, mutiny, and implosion. It's a new era with Mayo, but on the surface they're a ways back of Miami, Buffalo, and the Jets. The combination of suspect offensive line, rookie QB, and mediocre skill position players is very Carolina-ish...so is the meddling owner too. Betting markets have the Patriots, Broncos, and Panthers as the teams with lowest beatable win totals. I don't think I'd bet under 3.5...and I wouldn't better over 5.5..so 4.5 to me seems like a fair middle number.
