It's not just about Trump. And yes, people are still be swayed over his authoritarian tendencies because of disinformation. Just because you think Trump is full of #### there are still a lot of people out there who maybe have not yet made up their minds.

This is a systemic problem that needs all people to participate in. If you're not part of the solution, you're an appeaser and part of the problem. We can't just rely on our governments to manage disinformation because so much of it is created and spread through social media. This is now part of our civic responsibility IMO. Our democracy will only remain healthy if we safeguard it.

"For example, researchers know that false and misleading claims are believed more when they are repeated and can have measurable impacts on beliefs, attitudes and behaviours, both directly and indirectly by shaping ideological narratives, and that corrections and fact checks are only partially effective, even when people have no motivation to cling to a false piece of information."

We can prevent this as a community.

"In the United States, recent polls have shown nearly 70% of Republicans question the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election. This is a direct result of disinformation from Donald Trump, the loser of that election."

Direct result of disinformation. We need to correct disinformation before it has a chance to take root.

From a really interesting conference on the issue and just how important some really smart people, including Barack Obama, think this issue is. This is a very long video but some really interesting discussion that may interest those without the attention span of gnat.

Bottom line, we need to remain engaged to protect our democracy. When we disengage there are those out there who benefit from that and can forward their disinformation without factcheck or proper rebuttal. It's how so many Republicans got swept up into a cult.
