When a guy can pot a goal every two games, he's worth a considerable amount, and you can overlook a lot of warts in his game.

Exactly this. None of the wingers that have been listed as examples of guys who have gone for the 2nd round range have shown an ability to score every second game for multiple years leading up to when they were traded. The only scoring winger who has put up those kind of numbers in multiple years leading up to when he was traded is Guentzel. Comparing guys who score 0.3 goals per game with a guy who scores 0.5 goals per game is not really a valid comparison imo. Totally different players. If Kuzmenko scores 28 in the first 60 games before a trade this year he will be 0.42 GPG over his last 3 seasons.
Only one of the list that is even close to that number over his previous 3 seasons before he was traded is Toffoli (0.37 GPG). Guentzel was 0.48 GPG. Every other winger he has been compared to was around or below 0.3 in the 3 previous seasons before the deadline trade (except Tarasenko who returned a 1st rounder).
