How about poor Davey Scatino (Robert Patrick). Tony set him up from day one to ruin him. He seemed like a decent guy, and was friends with Tony going back to highschool.
Then Tony sets him up to ruin in that high end poker game. Only for Davey to be bled dry by Tony and Richie. Just like in Goodfellas they force him into bankruptcy... then straight into the nuthouse.
It was such a great performance by Patrick as well. Another character you empathize with on one hand, but despise on the other for destroying his family's future.

Gotta disagree completely here. Don't remember the exact numbers but Davey asked to get in the game and Tony gave him $10K credit. This isn't really a big deal considering Davey owed a successful business (Tony thought he owned it). Tony is in the loan shark business afterall, that wasn't exactly a big loan. When Tony caught some sleep Davey racked up another $40K by lying and saying that Tony had approved it. So at that point he was $50K in debt and it was his fault entirely, then they found out he owed Ritchie money too, then when Tony went to collect the first vig payment Davey had no money at all to give him.
Tony isn't exactly a good guy, no loan shark is, but Davey screwed himself and his family all by himself. If Tony hadn't gave him that 10K he would have borrowed it from someone else and Ritchie probably would have killed him if Tony hadn't stopped him.
