It's also extremely hard for those who have grown up in Canmore to stay in the community after. I know, no sympathy, but you do lose something when most young people could never afford to buy a home and stay. I've known many who have tried and failed. Some moved to Cochrane and commute to work in Canmore. I know several who build the homes in Canmore they can't afford to buy. But at least their are thousands of condos that sit empty 90% of the time.
