Climate change. It's the reason we have so much beetle kill. Sure, maybe we should log certain places, or not log certain places. Yes it is the main cause, but there’s a complicated set of factors here. With forest management the end result is a massive of amount of very mature trees. At some point it became almost impossible to manage those trees. Pine beetle and climate change absolutely then accelerated the situation to the dangerous levels it was at.
