I seem to recall another Wild defenseman who was in the discussion for the Calder even though he didn't put up a ton of points - leading them in ice time and playing some very solid minutes and looking much like an established NHLer despite being a rookie. That was Jonas Brodin. He's 31 now, and while he's been a solid contributor to that team, he never really took that much of a leap after that rookie season. I think there's a good chance that Faber ends up being the same story.
