Pearson seemed like a guy who was obsessed with velocity and forgot to learn how to pitch. There were reports that he could eventually hit 110mph.
His 98-99mph is really flat and isn’t overly intimidating to guys who now see 98mph every single day from pitchers who throw with a lot of movement and fantastic secondary stuff.
It’s extremely frustrating that they couldn’t develop him.
Failures in pitching development is going to sink this team long term.
