With Laine coming out of the NHLPA player assistance program trade talks have definitely picked up and with teams free to speak to him, it sounds like there's a number of teams looking to potentially pick him up if he's comfortable joining them.
Cant forget his shoulder injury however, though rumour is he's healing well and training is going quite well.
Jackets are willing to eat salary to sweeten the deal, but what version of Laine are you getting? He hasn't performed up to his ability the last few seasons and teams know this.
MTL is pretty high on Laine, seems to be substantial smoke around a deal with CBJ looking for futures now more so than roster players. B prospect + 2nd round pick is what teams seem to be comfortable giving up, but CBJ continue to want as much as possible. Some teams still think a deal around what Kuznetsov got is more realistic (3rd + retention by the team) so we'll see.
