I don't strictly believe the Alberta government is to blame directly for this disaster (they don't control fire intensity), but some humility and reflection during this time would be seen as honest and tactful. And they should be striking a fully collaborative tone and saying they want to move forward with everyone involved, hand-in-hand, without getting political.
But I expect too much. Marlaina will never, ever, give up that ground.

I thought her response to the question of who is in charge was pretty straightforward and talked about the collaboration happening. Parks Canada is in unified command with the municipality of Jasper. The Alberta Government is providing what assistance is asked for and they are on standby to provide more equipment and resources when called upon. The Alberta government has asked the Minister of Emergency Preparedness if they can be rolled into the unified command for the situation at a greater level but that is out of their control at this point. The Alberta government can't make decisions actionable decisions without Parks Canada approval and coordination.
