Even if you believe Bowman's account that he thought the President of Hockey Operations (or whoever) was "handling things" (and if you read the investigation report, the inconsistency of accounts and inability to recall critical details by all involved, including Bowman, is quite incredible), he was aware of the allegations and nonetheless stood by and, throughout the weeks that followed, personally observed the alleged (at that time as there had not been any investigation) assaulter continue to attend team events (where the complainant was also present!). He then stood by and personally observed the alleged assaulter lift the Stanley Cup at centre ice.
Sorry, but that is inexcusable for someone in Bowman's position. He should never be in a similar position again IMO.
