Wasn't Canmore getting infiltrated by Germans at one point? I haven't been there in a while so probably take my comments with a grain of sarcasm.

I really don't think so. I think outside of Calgary and Edmontonians (eww, I know), people from India would make up the largest group of people in Canmore from other places. A lot of the restaurants are owned by Indians now. Market Bistro, Italian place on main, the old Canmore Hotel/dive bar, etc.
I've yet to see a German person there. Japanese and German people used to flock there in the 90s, but not anymore from what I see.

I'd count 'em, but I don't see them, either. I remember riding the chairlift with some Brits who had Canmore condos in the early 2000s, but not sure what happened there. They don't seem to make up a large portion of the communities I run into.
I'd take all this with a giant grain of salt. My dance card is full so I actively try to not make friends there. It's possible/likely I know nothing.
